As faith develops, we stop trying to make deals with God and look for a deeper exchange, one in which we see him as our dearest friend and begin to trust his direction.

Krsna descends to this world especially to re-awaken within our hearts, knowledge of his transcendental nature and faith in his mercy. When we understand it with our intelligence and then we have faith in which may sublime of all principles, then we become fearless.
Yes, Normally we have deals with the Lord that we would do/give something in exchange for what we want. But the aim of a true spiritualist should be to consider the Lord as our dearest friend and trust that whatever happens is according to the Lord’s will.
True. And we should not do any business with the Lord. However, if we love Him with full faith, He provides what is required for us to grow spiritually strong.
very true.
This sounds like a really an interesting stage for a spiritual practitioner. What can be better than seeing the Lord as our best friend and wholeheartedly trust all his directions.
Many thanks for publishing this wonderful wisdom from HH Radhanath Swami.
Yes very true! Putting faith in the Lord is always safe as He is the Supreme. Srila Prabhupad used to say “Don’t put faith in me and others, however put faith in Krishna”.
Indeed. Thanks for sharing what Srila Prabhupada said on this topic. It’s really interesting.
A very profound quote from Radhanath Swami Maharaj. It is very important to understand message behind it. The only thing we should pray from Lord is to get unalloyed devotional service for Him and others.
So true.
Unalloyed devotion to Lord Krishna should be our only aspiration.
that is what krishna wants exactly….. & to reach that stage he says …manmana bhavamad bhakto …….
Very true Sir! Lord has already spoken everything in Bhagavad Gita, but people don’t want to follow these injunctions because they have tendency to do business with the Lord. Only those who fully surrender to the Lord without any desire to get anything in return are called pure devotees.
Very deep statement. People look at God as a businessman. I will give you my time and you give me something in return. This is at a very subtle level, which even people may not realize. When we reach a stage when we see towards God as friend without any expectation and agree to whatever plans he has, then its real magic 🙂 Thanks Maharaj for sharing.
Great thoughts Anandji! For people today, God means someone Who can fulfill their desires and can provide anything and everything they want. But this is not what we say is devotional service. It is merely a business.
Well said Sumit ji. Devotional service is not actually for any material gains, but unfortunately this correct understanding is rare these days.
exactly…thanks for your comments.
So well summarized. Unfortunately, we are usually so habituated with the give and take mentality that we often tend to apply the same even in our relationship with God, but the fact is we don’t know that what is best for us and keep on asking for various puny material things while God is ready to award us much more than that only if we approach him as real friend with no expectations.
Very true. Thanks for sharing.
