Very true. When we desperately want something and we get it after a lot of struggle, there is a feeling of appreciation as well as gratitude.
Eye-opening quote!
Nice quote
thank you
A very nice quote with an indepth message by His Holiness Radhanath Swami Maharaj.
Yes, necessity is associated with appreciation. Hari Bol
Hare Krishna,
i felt this quote very relevant. I remember Maharaj also telling that “sacrifice cannot go unrewarded.” Where there is necessity sacrifice is present. That attracts mercy.
Thank you Maharaj.
Thank you very nice quote
Thank you Radhanath Swami for this wonderful deep rooted quote
We value what we don’t get easily. We hold the same attitude towards spiritual life. Maharaj thanks for this brilliant insight.
Things which we get easily are not valued much, here Radhanath Swami states the importance of valuing the things of utmost importance
Only if we really need something badly, will we appreciate it when we get it.
Very insightful quote – Necessity brings in appreciation. Thanks a lot Maharaj.
perfect quote by Radhanath swami.
Thank you very much for sharing
Thank you Radhanath Swami for this wonderful quote
Thanks Swamiji for sharing your deep realisations based on our experiences with us…..
Thank you Maharaj for sharing this
Yes, we can clearly see how this quote from Radhanath Swami applies to our lives.
So true . In times of distress we truly appreciate the power of the holy name & God.
yes, when we feel absolute necessity then only we can appreciate the gift/ things around us. Very simply & nice quote by Radhanath Swami Maharaj.
How true is this? H.H Radhanath Swami Maharaj always conveys deep meaning in simple words.
Yes, otherwise we take it too cheaply. Thanks Radhanath Swami…
Very true ….. especially seen among the poor section of society. They appreciate any small gift of money, food etc so much. Similarly if we consider ourselves spiritually poor, we will better appreciate such precious articles on spitrituality by Radhanath Swami.
Beautiful quote!
Amazing1
So true!!! If we just apply it incase of Spirituality, true saints like Radhanath swami after undergoing so much austerities and perfecting their lives are now freely giving themselves to others to help them, however many of us are happy with our paltry accumlations of this world!
So true… If one has all the things he wants it is so difficult for him to appriciate.
It is a very profound statement of Radhanath swami. Because at the time of need we can find who is our real friend, that act of friend, can bring appreciation for him.
We would appreciate a glass of water more than a Mercedes car if we are in a desert about to die out of thirst
Nice Quote, thank you Radhanath Maharaj.
true, like they say, when u are really hungry, it doesnt matter how the food is… u just love it!
When we have hunger for taking shelter of holynames, SB, association of devotees, deities and holy places, then we can understand their value and appreciate the most precious gift we have got by mercy of Prabhupada.
Radhanath Swami is a very practical person and here he talks of reality
Totally agree with Navinjis comment
Radhanath Swami has pointed out an important aspect of our psychology. We pay attention to events and concepts only when they directly affect us. This is where we can use our power of imagination and appreciate the value of things by visualizing situations wherein they become necessary.
wonderful…..this is the ultimate mood to take shelter of the lord, due to our matrialistic life style and comforts surrounding us we do not feel the need and urgency to take shelter of the holynames forgetting that death will any time eject us from this material stage.
Yes when we have gratitude as Radhanath Maharaj mentions do we really appreciate others.
Radhanath Swami never fails to appreciate even the most insignificant service performed by any disciple in devotion to God. And he actually never considers any act of devotional service to be insignificant as well, even though it may apparently seem to be simple & a matter of routine for the rest of us.
So True! Only when we are thirsty do we appreciate a glass of water.
Beautiful quote.Radhanath Swami gives the examle of a person when hungry appriciates food very much.
Seems like a simple quote, but Radhanath Swamis quotes are full of wisdom, if we can make spiritual life a necessity ,than we can appreciate the lords creation and more importantly the Lord himself as the creator.
Thanks Maharaj for the wonderful quote
Radhanath Swami Maharaj tells us how to cultivate the habit of appreciation…..
How true! If we need something or someone very much, then we appreciate its value more.
If we consider a thing as important and necesarry, we will appreciate it and not take it for granted. Thank you Radhanath Swami.
Maharaj always shown by his example, he always appreciate and glorified to his Godbrothers and even one who has done small service to the movement of Srila Prabhupda.
So true!
wonderful,thank you
We know the saying, necessity is mother of invention. But Maharaj gives us deeper understanding of necessity and appreciation.. thanks for sharing.. JAI !!!
Typically, when we are comfortable, we cant appreciate the miseries of others. Because not everyone will explicitly reveal them to us. But when we are in a desperate need of solace and shelter, then we become more sensitive to others’ suffering and also more appreciative of those who provide the shelter and solace.
I realize this on nirjala ekadashi day
Thank you very much maharaj for such a nice quote.
Thanks for sharing this
We appreciate people only when we know and understand the importance of that person. Thanks for this elaboration on Radhanath Swami Maharaj’s beautiful quote.
very deep Quote. one should take it into consideration
wonderful quote by Radhanath swami
Very true statement. Only thing soul thinks is to worship god while coming out of womb and so easily it forgets once it receives what it needs.
This is so true. Nice quote.
This is so true. We cry out to Krishna when in need. It is only then we have real appreciation. Once the need is over, everything is forgotten. Jai Maharaj!
Wonderful quote given by HH Radhanath Swami Maharaj.
I am still trying to understand this sutra from Radhanath Swami. Necessity, appreciation??? Can someone explain this please…
Short but deep
Very true. Applicable to material and spiritual life equally. More desperate we are in the need of something, more appreciation we have for it.
Very deep and meaningful.
Radhanath Swami teaches us not to take things, situations and people for granted.
Wonderful quote. Very profound and deep.
Wonderful quote from Radhanath Swami.
thank you
Its a fact … The less we have, the more we value and want. However the realisation that we don’t have enough in spiritual life and need more is very important.
Yes this is true of each one of us. Because we do not feel the necessity for the holy names, devotees and Krishna’s service we cannot appreciate them. Thank you Radhanath Swami for enlightening us.
Radhanath swami ki jai
Radhanath Swami also gives another example in this regard if you are not hungry then you won;t enjoy eating.
True!We appreciate people only when we know and understand the importance of that person !Sometimes we see this when people go away from us we tend to appreciate them more, as we feel a vaccum without them and feel great necessity for them.Thank You Radhanath Swami
All Glories To.H.H. Radhanath Swami Maharaj
Very wonderful quote.
Hare Krishna
Where there is Appreciation there is Hope. Because people know they will be cared and loved for in such a place. So people flock to such a person and are attracted towards him. No wonder Radhanath Swami has such a great following as he makes a point to apprecate the smallest work someone may have done for service of Lord
