51. Krsna says one who is proud is grossly foolish because he thinks himself to be the doer. But in actuallity he is dancing on the three strings of material nature which are under the full control of Krsna Himself (dishonest). Another symptom of pride “I deserve it” (unrealistic). How can then mercy penetrate our heart? When we are proud we expect prestige, honor, adoration, respect, attention which are all agains the principles of ‘Trnad api sunichena….’ (ungrateful). Then how can we chant continously the holynames. THerefore we have to fight against it, improve our sadhana to elimiate it and take shelter of the Lord and His devotees. We have to always remember that maya traps the puffed up..
