Radhanath Swami on the craving for recognitionSelfishness, the incessant craving to be recognized, it’s the mind’s way of succumbing to the ego. It’s the symptom of the person who has really not tasted the sweetness of glorifying Krishna. – Radhanath Swami

  1. We are all looking for glorification of ourselves instead of the Lord. That’s the impediment in our spiritual lives.

  2. The False Ego is big impediment for a soul from going towards krishna. And this false ego is such a deadly disease which Krishna never likes. HH Radhanath Swami Maharaj perfectly depicts a nature of a soul in the material world ! Well said quote by Maharaj !

  3. Its the False Ego of our mind which prevents us from glorifying Krishna and We always tend to be servants of our own False Ego Which is basically leads to destruction only ! Thank You HH Radhanath Swami Maharaj for revealing this insightful Quote to us !

  4. I am planning to print this……! This is one thing which has to be remembered often….!! Even while meditating; by default mind glorifies oneself and it has to be trained to relish the sweet glories of the Lord….!

  5. In the minds of those who are too attached to sense gratification, the resolute determination for chanting the Lord’s holy names does not take place.
    Thank you so much Maharaja.

  6. It is a very profound and deep statement by Radhanath Swami. To realise and glorify Krishna is not a cheap mundane thing.

  7. One who once tastes the sweetness of Krishna has only one thought and purpose i.e. to server Krishna and everyone else.

  8. Wonderrful. Only a person who has not tasted the love of Krishna seeks love outside in recognition from outside world

  9. How true but maya is so strong the moment we praises vaishnava or Krishna next moment our ears want to hear our own glorification.pl maharaj take us all out of this bhavsagar.

  10. I heard in one of the discourse that Pure devotees wants to glorify Krishna and Krishna wants to glorify His devotees. From the pastimes of Madhvendra Puri, we can understand that Lord Krishna spread all name and fame of devotee who selflessly render devotional service Him without ulterior motives.

  11. This is a disease which spreads like a wild fire. Thank you for diagnosing our diseased condition. Glorifying the Lord is the only way to cure this disease

  12. Thank you Radhanath Maharaj for this enlightening quote. We need to be God-centered rather than self-centered, otherwise we would never be satisfied in this world.

  13. maharaj always emphasis service without any recogniation must be there.. serious sincere pratice of devotional service without any personal uterior motive

  14. We experience and observe this all the time in the corporate world; how a person can become so insecure because he / she has not experienced the sublime satisfaction of glorifying Krishna

  15. The root cause of all the strife in the world is selfishness. Heeding HH Radhanath Swami’s advice of performing devotional service to Krishna is the only panacea.

  16. SO true. if we are not absorbed in Krishna’s glories then we would like to hear one’s own’s praises.

  17. What are the symptoms of a person who did not tasted the glories of Krishna is very conclusively mentioned by Radhanath Swami in this very wonderful quote.

  18. Its very true. When we are fully absorbed for our name and fame then we are completely blinded by the presence of any one what to speak of glorifying Krishna.

  19. As Radhanath Swami nicely quoted, the only way to rid of ego is to constantly glorify Krishna.

  20. True! We crave for recognition which is a mirror of our egoistic nature. We should learn to give recognition to others without asking for ourselves. Very difficult to reach this stage.

    1. I agree. However, We should have faith that by practice and constant hearing from enlightened souls like HH Radhanath Swami, even this stage is attainable in due course of time. Let’s pray for everyone to attain the same and the Lord will reciprocate :).

  21. One who once tastes the sweetness of Krishna has only one thought and purpose i.e. to server Krishna and everyone else. Such a blessed person has no selfish desires and need of recognition. At that stage one feels nourished only by constant service to everyone else as mind is not able to bewilder one. Beautiful and deep quote. Thank you for publishing.

  22. wonderful realisation and quote. Unless you do not give up selfishness you can’t really glorify others and Krishna selflessly. Whatever you glorify is just superficial, just because you have been told that you should glorify vaishnavas. But its not coming from within. Atleast thats’ my experience. Thank you Maharaj for a wonderful insight into this subtle topic.
