very true Sumitji. A very pertinent example in this can be given of the life story of Shabari. She was told by her Guru that she will see Lord Ramachandra in this life. When this was told she was young, but she saw the Lord only when she became old (after a lot of years). She managed to keep herself alive only on the hope that she will be able to see the Lord.
