Very true! We grow when we overcome adversities, obstacles and struggles in our lives!
Very true! This material world works on the principle of ” Survival of the fittest”. Actually the true nature/character of an individual can be gauged by his reaction to adversity. As they say ” When the going gets tough, the tough get going”
Material existence is a consciousness by which one thinks I am the controller, I am the enjoyer, I am the proprietor. And therefore we very much are accustomed to expect things to go our way. And if things don’t go our way depending on our nature we may become angry, vengeful, we may fight, we may give up, become depressed, commit suicide, with trough from society. More or less we all seen this. But the problem is if God gave us what we wanted, we probably wouldn’t grow much at all. Because bhakti is not about getting, bhakti is about seeking shelter. We only get Lord’s grace when we seek shelter, we only get it when we give up hope of anything else.
Very nice. Lot of things to learn here.
Very beautiful quote from Radhanath Swami Maharaj. Unless we are resolute in our purpose, it’s very hard to progress on anything. If we are determined to grow spiritually it is must that we have full faith in the process of devotional service and practice it under expert guidance of a bona-fide spiritual master.
the heat of goldsmith when a raw gold go through will become pure….. thank you swamiji for your golden words.
Nice comment.
HH Radhanath Swami Maharaj in this quote stresses the importance of not losing the focus on the ultimate goal even if obstacles come in the path.
Yes! And one can always remain focus if he/she is in the association of devotees. In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy, only association of devotees can protect creeper of our devotional service.
as krishna said in BHAGAVATH GEETA ” yatantascha drida vratha…” importance of WILL … HH Mahraj simplified well. thankyou verymuch mahraj…
Indeed! One of the important lessons from the life of great devotees (like Pandavas) is to continue executing devotional service despite obstacles!
Yes very true. A devotee never cares about inconveniences in his life.
Very true.
In the wonderful, beautiful things that come in our life if we are looking for the love of God in that and we are looking for the opportunity to grow, we will find it. But if we are not then even in the most beautiful things of life will cause us great frustration, anxiety and ruination.
So true.
Nicely described the essence of this quote!
The greatest power of God is grace, it could lift one up even from very fallen, miserable situation. Or from the very elevated situations could actually lift one up and give one entrance into the realm of eternity.
Great and very hope giving point.
very true Laura. Good observation.
This is a such a motivating wisdom. HH Radhanath Swami rightly points here that any adversities in life should not deviate from our progress towards ultimate goal of life.
Unfortunately many a times we get too bewildered in case of adversities and loose our site from our goal.
Many thanks for publishing this inspiring wisdom from HH Radhanath Swami.
Yes, this reminds me of Arjun who despite coming to know about Abhimanyu’s death continued to serve the will of Lord Krishna!
Great example here about what it means to serve the will of the Lord despite reversals in one’s life.
Great thoughts! And if one is determined to follow the path of devotional service in spite of facing reversals, for him Lord Himself reduces the ocean of this material world to be the water that a calf hoof can contain.
Very inspiring quote! It’s so true that the struggle to continue in spite of obstacles is very necessary for our growth.
Really true. Struggle is the name of the game as long as we are in this material world… I heard this also from HH Radhanath Swami in some talk.
Wonderful!
And we pretty much cannot do anything if things go awry in our life. We can only beg for tolerance from the Lord and serve the devotees more and more to gain strength to tolerate the reversals.
